A Timely Message

Our mission has always been to serve our musical artists but for the time being, DIVE is closed to the public.

We are following all recommendations provided by health and government agencies and encourage others to do so as well.

Music will give us the strength in these difficult times.

Rock History Plays Here.

DIVE is the manifestation and celebration of our own rock history through the musicians who played at this location over the past 50 years as well as our future musical guests.  We cordially invite you to become part of our music history by dropping in on an open mic or reaching out for a performance on your own.

Located in the basement of Darlington House, and formerly The Childe Harold, DIVE serves as a place for musicians to put forth their artistry throughout the week.  Our equipment is for the use of our guests with acoustic and electric  guitars that our guests can play on open mic nights or with the help of our staff on other evenings.

We celebrate live music and look forward to opening again.

DIVE is located within the Darlington House which hosted such amazing music icons as Al Green, Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt, the Slikee Boys, Emmylou Harris and the Ramones when it was the Childe Harold. This was the first place the Ramones played in Washington DC in 1976 and Bruce’s 3 night gig in 1973 for $750 represents just one of the many artists that either began their career or had an early start at this address.  Bruce’s performances are documented in the contracts that are proudly displayed on our wall.

DIVE represents the musical vision of Russell Hirshon and personifies almost 50 years of rock history, collection of electric guitars and rock photography acquired from The Govinda Gallery. Our aim to be a place for aspiring and established musicians to play in front of appreciative audiences as well as an environment that is as casual as your own home.  Open microphone night is every Friday with slot sign ups beginning at 7pm and currently ending at 10pm. Live music is listed on our event page.

Dinner is served nightly from 4pm until 10pm. Until 11pm on Friday and Saturdays.
